SmartFood Nutrition cooking classes offer information about how certain food and nutrients work to promote health, fight illness and heal injuries.
Our classes work to simplify complex scientific nutrition biochemistry into simple, easy, and of course, delicious meals and recipes. Each SmartFood Nutrition cooking class features a nutrition lecture integrated into a live cooking demonstration. This all happens within a fun and social (mimosa's! herbal tea! hemp milk!) group environment. The classes include food to eat after class or take home.
Celina's triumphant personal experience in healing her own body from pain and celiac disease led her in the creation of a manageable way of cooking to help pain survivors and the diseased take advantage of the healing power of foods.
Classes offered at SmartFood Nutrition are also appropriate for the general community. The classes are designed to promote the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle in a way that is simple and manageable. This two hour class will teach you the basics of easy baby food prep, home cooking basics, stages of food introduction and age for specific food introductions. We will discuss learning to read your babies food cues and setting your baby up for a life time of positive eating choices. $75.00, 2 hour class.
This class will discuss concepts covered in the Baby Nutrition class. This class is a fun time to hang out with other Mommas, discuss your beloveds, and make enough baby food for two months time (36-40, 4 oz jars). Your baby’s nutritionist will have recipes designed to meet the specific vitamins in higher amounts needed by your little darling. Additionally many of the recipes will approach the macronutrient profile of breast milk so your baby will grow and flourish. $150, 5 hr class.
Beans and grains should be the staple of most people's diet. They are also the easiest food to make with the most diverse profile of flavors. This three hour class demonstrates basic concepts and empowers you to stay on top of your health by only cooking for less than 20 minutes a day. $100, 3 hour class, lunch provided.
